Intense Israeli air strikes in Lebanon have resulted in at least 492 deaths, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict amidst fears of a broader war.
The Israeli apartheid regime has launched extensive air strikes targeting civilian areas. They have caused immense civilian suffering, with thousands displaced and significant infrastructure damage across multiple regions in Lebanon.
Lebanon's health ministry reported that among the dead, there were 35 children and 58 women, while over 1,600 individuals sustained injuries.
The situation has prompted international calls for restraint, with UN Secretary General António Guterres expressing alarm over the potential for Lebanon to become another Gaza. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden announced efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
Hezbollah has declared its continued support for Hamas, insisting that it will not cease operations until a ceasefire is established. Despite Israeli claims of significant strikes against Hezbollah, the group remains resilient, responding with rocket attacks across the border into occupied territories.
